Send Flowers in Steele County, MN

Funeral Work Around Owatonna and Medford

Medford Funeral Home takes sympathy pieces for services in the northern half of the county, and a delivery there needs the name of the service rather than the name of the deceased on the delivery line. Staff sort what arrives by which room it is destined for, and the family name is what tells them.

Steele County is small enough that a mistake can be fixed the next morning, and a sympathy order is the one case where the next morning is no help. Give the hour the doors open and the florist can build the schedule backward from it instead of aiming at the middle of the day.

Benedictine Living Community Owatonna sits under ZIP 55060 and takes flowers for residents as well as for staff. A piece going to a care home should be low enough to sit on a bedside table and stable enough not to tip when the table is moved, which rules out most tall designs.

A Birthday in Blooming Prairie

In Steele County the everyday orders outnumber the difficult ones by a long way. A birthday in Blooming Prairie, a new baby at Owatonna Hospital, an anniversary in Ellendale, a thank you after a hard week: those are the orders that fill an average month under this page.

Hospital deliveries do best when they are small and unscented, because the room is often shared and the tray is narrow. Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie holds 55917 and takes resident deliveries on the same terms, with the full name doing more work than any room number.

Workplace orders are where the delivery window bites. The 9 AM to 7 PM range is longer than most working days in a town of this size, so write the closing time into the notes and the attempt is made while there is somebody at the counter to take it.

The 1 PM Line for an Ellendale Order

An order placed before 1 PM Central time reaches a Steele County address the same business day, and the zone that counts is the one the recipient lives in. For a sender on the east coast that means an hour earlier than the clock at home suggests, and for a sender out west it means the middle of the morning.

Flower delivery runs Monday through Saturday and Sunday delivery is not available anywhere in Steele County. That is the single limit most senders do not expect, and the workaround is to place a Saturday order with a note asking the funeral home or a neighbor to hold the piece until the Sunday.

The window runs between 9 AM and 7 PM. Across 430 square miles the driving is not long, but the window is not shortened because of it, and a requested hour is passed on rather than promised. The day is what can be relied on, and in practice the day is what senders care about.

Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas and Easter all pull the same day line earlier than 1 PM. On those four dates, an Owatonna order placed the previous afternoon is worth more than a carefully worded note added on the morning of.

Four Towns and 430 Square Miles

Roughly 37,434 people live in Steele County, and about two thirds of them are in one town. That concentration makes this an unusually simple county to deliver into: most addresses sit inside a few square miles, and the rest are on straight roads between the four towns.

Owatonna is the seat and holds ZIP 55060. Blooming Prairie sits at 55917 in the southern corner, and Medford and Ellendale take the other two corners. Two more ZIP codes, 55049 and 56026, finish the set.

Five counties share a border with this one. Rice County, MN begins to the north, Waseca County, MN lies to the west, and Mower County, MN takes over south of Blooming Prairie. Steele County and every other county in the state appear on the Minnesota county index.

A Substituted Stem, Same Shape and Size

Flower types may be substituted for whatever the florist has on hand, and the substitution stops there. The type of arrangement stays as ordered and so do its size, its shape and its value, which means the piece that arrives is the piece you bought even when the individual stems are not.

The season decides how often this comes up. Between June and September very little changes; in February a good deal does, and a mixed seasonal arrangement is the order that carries the change best. If one particular flower matters to the recipient, write down why in the notes.

A photo of the finished arrangement is sent at no extra charge once the florist has built it. If an Owatonna delivery goes wrong, three days is all the time there is to say so, because the goods do not keep. The piece gets remade, the order refunded, or part of it credited.

Pick What Fits the Room in Owatonna

Choose the size before the color and the shape before the flower. A chapel takes something built to be seen from a distance, a kitchen takes something people can talk across, and a bedside takes something that will not fall over when the tray is pushed. None of the three substitutes for another.

The full catalog lists a finished size beside every design, which is the fastest way to see what a photograph is hiding. For a Steele County, MN address the choice narrows to a handful as soon as the room is settled.

Four town pages sit beneath this one with the streets and named places this page only summarizes. Use them when the street is known and this page when it is not, and either way the order reaches a florist working near the recipient in Minnesota.
