Twelve towns share this page and 220,143 people live across 991 square miles, from the beaches in the south east up into the hills along the western border. Alfred holds the seat. York County is the corner of the state most senders reach first, and the spread between its coast and its inland towns is wider than the map suggests.

Alfred is the seat, though Sanford, Biddeford and Saco carry most of the population between them. York Harbor and Kittery Point sit at the southern tip, Cape Neddick and South Eliot nearby, while Cornish and Kezar Falls lie well inland on the other side of the county.
Eighteen ZIP codes cover it, and they split cleanly into two groups. 03903 and 03909 belong to the southern tip, while 04005, 04072 and 04073 take in the three larger towns further north, and 04047 and 04068 reach the inland corner of York County. An order without a ZIP is genuinely ambiguous here.
991 square miles for 220,143 people makes this a busy coast with a quiet interior. An address in South Berwick or Lake Arrowhead is a different afternoon from an address on the beach, and the second one is far more likely to be a stop on a round that already exists.
A search for York County, ME will return the coast and stop there, which leaves out half of this page. West Kennebunk, Kezar Falls and the other inland towns each have a page of their own with their own ZIP codes and their own streets, and naming the town on the order removes the guesswork at this end.
220,143 people is a large number for a state this size, and most of it sits within a few miles of the water. Inland the pattern reverses: long roads, few numbers, and houses set well back. A Maine address of that kind wants a contact number in the notes rather than a longer street description.
An order placed before 1 PM Eastern time is worked the same business day. The zone is the recipient's, which means a sender in the mountain zone has until 11 in the morning at home and a sender on the west coast until 10, and both of those arrive sooner than people plan for.
Flower delivery runs Monday through Saturday, and Sunday delivery is not available anywhere in York County. Anything wanted for a Sunday travels on the Saturday, and along the York County, ME coast the summer Saturdays are the busiest of the year, so a Thursday order is a good deal more comfortable than a Friday one.
Deliveries land between 9 AM and 7 PM. A specific hour can be requested at checkout and will be attempted, though it cannot be promised, and around Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas and Easter the same-day cutoff can move ahead of 1 PM without much notice.
Flower types can be substituted for whatever the florist has on hand. The arrangement type does not change with them: no change in size, no change in shape, no change in value, and the effort goes into keeping the finished piece as close to the ordered one as the day's stock allows.
The seasons here swing hard. What arrives easily in a Maine July may be scarce in February, and a substitution of the same weight and color keeps an arrangement whole where an exact match would leave it thin. The swap is of material only, never of the thing that was bought.
Summer runs the other way. Between June and September the coast is busy enough that a Saturday afternoon slot in York County is genuinely scarce, and an order placed two days ahead is worth more than any amount of care taken over the choice of stems.
A photo of the finished arrangement is sent after it has been made, at no extra charge, so the result is something you see rather than something described to you. Anything that still looks wrong has three days from delivery to be raised, and a replacement, a refund or credit for part of the order are the ways out.
Height is the decision that most often goes wrong from a distance. A tall design needs floor or a wide table, and a bedside table at Southridge Rehab & Living Ctr has neither, so a compact arrangement in a vase is the reliable choice for any clinical or care address.
For a house it is the other way round. A hall table in a place inland finally justifies something with reach, and a vase still saves the recipient from hunting for a container. St Andre Health Care Facility and Seal Rock Healthcare both prefer the vase for the same practical reason.
Every design in the catalog appears at the size it is actually sold in, which is thirty seconds well spent before ordering into a room nobody sending has stood in. Colors read honestly on a screen; scale does not, and that page is where the correction happens.
Street names repeat across this county, and several towns share part of a name with a neighbor. An address written with the town but no ZIP can be read two ways, and along a coast where a summer house and a year-round house sit on the same road, the wrong reading costs a day.
A workplace order along this coast needs a department and a floor written into it. Summer Commons and Pinnacle Health & Rehab at Sanford both take flowers at reception for residents, and a full name goes further than a room number in either, because rooms are reassigned and names are not.
Seasonal addresses are the local peculiarity. A house occupied only between June and September needs somebody to be there, and if the recipient is not, the workplace or a year-round address is the better target. Deliveries between 9 AM and 7 PM only help if the door is answered.
Orders with no hour attached are the bulk of what arrives in York County, and they are the straightforward ones. Any working day inside the delivery window will do, and a mid-week slot avoids the coastal Saturday rush that runs from June through to the end of the season.
Cumberland County, ME continues up the coast from here, and Strafford County, NH sits just across the river to the south west, each with a page of its own. The rest of the state is gathered at the Maine delivery index by county.
