Lewiston, ME Flower Delivery, Order to Photo

Same day flower delivery in Lewiston starts with payment, but that is the first step, not the last. After a Lewiston flower delivery is placed, a local florist builds the arrangement by hand in its vase or basket, and it is carried to the recipient that same business day if the order came in before 1 PM Eastern time. Delivery runs Monday through Saturday, between 9 AM and 7 PM, and Sunday is not a delivery day.

With 37,124 people counted in 2020, Lewiston, ME flower delivery goes to apartments, offices, college halls and care centers as often as to houses. Flower orders also get sent to towns called Lewiston in Idaho, Utah, Michigan, California and Minnesota, so before paying check that the summary reads Lewiston ME, in Maine, with a ZIP of 04240, 04241 or 04243. The sections below cover the addresses that need the most care and end with the photo.

A card for a Montello Manor resident

Montello Manor is a nursing home in the 04240 ZIP. An arrangement for someone living there needs the resident's name exactly as staff know it, plus a room or wing if the family can tell you. Rooms in care homes are small and sometimes shared, so a compact vase design from a Lewiston florist, or a plant that fits a windowsill, makes more sense than a wide centerpiece.

Care homes can have rules about what goes into a room; lilies with loose pollen and very tall vases are the usual worries, and one call to the family settles it. Scent matters as well: a room shared with another resident is no place for a heavily perfumed bouquet, and a mild mix of roses, daisies or greenery keeps everyone comfortable. Most homes take flowers at the front desk during the delivery window. Funeral flowers in Lewiston, sent when a resident has died, belong instead with the funeral home, such as Pinette and Lynch, or at the family's house.

Sending to Marshwood Center on a weekday

Marshwood Center is another nursing home at a 04240 address. To send flowers to Lewiston residents there, a weekday arrival is usually the easier one: offices are staffed, visitors come and go, and there is no delivery on Sundays in any case. Place the order before 1 PM Eastern time for that day, or a day ahead if the date matters to the family.

If several relatives want to order flowers, one larger arrangement signed by all of them sits better in a small room than four separate vases. And if the resident has moved to hospital, redirect the order to Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center with the patient's full name and department, since hospital deliveries go to the unit rather than to the old room.

A Bates College student's address

Bates College is a private college in the city, and flowers for a student there need more than a street. Give the student's full name, the residence hall and the room, and check with the student where deliveries are accepted, since a college mail room may not be the right place for anything perishable. For a birthday at a Lewiston college, or a finished thesis at Bates, an address where someone can take the flowers in person is the safer choice.

The card should say who it is from in words the student will recognize at a glance; a family nickname works better than a formal signature. Commencement weekend is busy for everyone, so flowers delivered to an off-campus apartment a day early often land better than one aimed at the ceremony itself.

Substitutes inside a Lewiston arrangement

Each arrangement is built from what the florist has on hand, so individual flower types may be substituted. The arrangement itself stays the one you chose, with its size, its shape and its value untouched. A florist in Lewiston keeps the result as close to the pictured design as the available stems allow, usually by swapping like for like in color and form.

That matters most for a design with one signature flower. If a specific bloom is the point of the gift, mention it on the order so the substitution, if any, keeps the spirit. There is no flower shop in Lewiston tied to this page; the order is made up by a local florist and hand-delivered, not boxed and shipped.

Your photo of the finished Lewiston piece

Once the florist finishes the arrangement, a photo of it is sent to you at no extra charge. It shows the actual flowers that are going out, not a catalog picture, so you can see the colors and the size and how any substitution turned out. For a sender who lives far away, it is the closest thing to standing at the door, and for flower deliveries to a care home it confirms that the arrangement left in the shape you chose.

Flowers are perishable, so a problem needs raising in the first three days after they arrive; a replacement, a refund or a partial credit can follow. Browse the catalog of designs to start.
