Poydras Flower Delivery in LA, Door to Door

Three towns with their own delivery listings lie a short drive away: Violet, LA, Meraux, LA and Belle Chasse, LA. Because one afternoon of deliveries can take in several of these places, a flower delivery in Poydras, LA is timed to the window between 9 AM and 7 PM rather than to a particular hour.

Some homes stand on bigger lots set back from the road. If the recipient keeps working hours, pick a daytime address where someone can take the arrangement in, so it is not waiting outside all afternoon.

Orders placed before 1 PM Central time can arrive the same business day; that is the whole rule behind same day flower delivery in Poydras. For a West Coast sender, that line falls at 11 in the morning. Deliveries run Monday through Saturday, and Sunday delivery is not available, so a Sunday occasion is covered on Saturday or on Monday.

Houses, lots and two ZIPs in Poydras

With 2,536 residents counted in 2020 across 3.908 square miles, the community sends most flower orders to single-family houses, a smaller share to workplaces and hardly any to large apartment buildings. A clear house number and street name do more than any landmark.

Local mail carries one of two ZIP codes, 70085 or 70040, and the order should repeat whichever the recipient's letters show. Guessing between them is how a bouquet ends up on the wrong street. A mobile home or an apartment needs its lot or unit number as well, or the arrangement can reach the wrong door.

For a workplace, include the company name and the department, and choose a day when the recipient will be at the desk. Flowers delivered to a front office should be small enough to sit on a counter without blocking the phone.

Relatives in Violet, Meraux or across the line

Families here often have relatives in the next community over, and a home in Violet or Meraux is sometimes described loosely as part of this community. The envelope settles it: the town printed on the recipient's mail is the one to order for. A letter addressed Poydras LA 70085 means this page is right.

Belle Chasse has its own page, and addresses anywhere in Plaquemines Parish, LA have their own listing. A card for a sister in Meraux and another for a parent here are two separate orders, each arranged by florists near Poydras or near the other town and sent out on the same calendar.

Timberlane, LA, Chalmette and New Orleans Station are listed nearby too, each with its own page and ZIP, and the same rule applies. Sending to two homes on the same Saturday is no problem, provided each order is in before 1 PM Central time that morning.

Poydras mail without a city hall

The census counts Poydras as a census-designated place in St. Bernard Parish, LA, with no city government of its own, so for a flower order the only name that matters is the one on the recipient's mail, not a town line. On the order form a CDP address looks like any other: street, community name, LA and the ZIP. The only trap is choosing a neighbor's name because it sounds more familiar.

St. Bernard Parish counts 44,783 residents, and its seat is Chalmette, where parish offices keep their hours. A thank-you arrangement for someone who works for the parish belongs at a Chalmette address on a weekday. Arabi, LA and the other parish towns are covered from the parish listing, and flower deliveries to any of them follow the same Monday-through-Saturday calendar.

What a substitute stem means for a 70085 order

Flower types may be substituted for what the florist has on hand on a given morning. The type of arrangement stays fixed: no change to its size, its shape or its value, and the utmost effort goes into keeping the colors and feel close to the design you chose.

That promise matters most for funeral flowers in Poydras, where a standing piece has to fill the space it was ordered for beside the others. It matters for a birthday too: birthday flowers for a Poydras friend keep their size and color scheme even if a lily becomes a rose, and a get well arrangement for a patient at home keeps its cheerful colors under the same rule. If one flower matters, say lilies for a mother who loved them, mention it in the order notes; it is treated as a wish, since availability decides.

Once the florist has made it, a photo of the finished arrangement is sent at no extra charge, so you see what went out before the recipient calls.

Anyone searching for a flower shop in Poydras can send flowers to Poydras from the arrangement catalog and order flowers days ahead with a chosen date. A florist in Poydras or close by does the making, and Poydras flower delivery reaches any address the ZIP points to. For other towns across Louisiana, the state listing links each one, and Louisiana holidays may bring an earlier same-day line around Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas and Easter.
