Melville, LA Flower Delivery by a Local Florist

Melville on the St. Landry map

Here is the order of things. You choose a design and pay; a florist in Melville or a nearby town arranges it by hand; it travels upright to the recipient in its container; and a photo of the finished arrangement comes to you at no extra charge. Flower delivery in Melville, LA ends with that picture, not with a tracking number.

The town is part of St. Landry Parish, LA, where Opelousas is the seat and 80,869 people live across 924 square miles. Krotz Springs, Port Barre, Leonville, Washington and Eunice are among its other towns, and flower deliveries to any of them keep one calendar.

Relatives often describe the area by the closest name they know. If the recipient's mail reads Krotz Springs, LA or Morganza, LA, use that page; Fordoche, LA is another neighbor. Addresses in Pointe Coupee Parish, LA are covered on the same schedule.

For an office in Opelousas, such as a parish department, use that town's page and send on a weekday.

Melville flower delivery to relatives in several of these towns can go out on the same morning. Each address is its own order with its own card, and each is judged against the same 1 PM Central line.

New York and Rhode Island namesakes on the order

New York and Rhode Island each have a place with the same name, and search results for flowers there can crowd out the Louisiana town. An order with a New York or Rhode Island ZIP goes to that state.

Before paying, read the summary once: Melville LA, ZIP 71353, and the street. Those three details keep the order in the right state.

That check matters most for funeral flowers in Melville, where the service has a fixed day and a misdirected arrangement cannot be pulled back in time.

If you have ever sent flowers to one of the other two, clear the saved address in your browser before typing the new one.

Front yards and side streets in Melville

Orders here go to a town of 761 residents counted in 2020, on about 1.3 square miles. Almost every delivery is a house, a church hall or a small business, and a clear street number is usually enough.

Same day flower delivery in Melville runs on Central time. Orders placed before 1 PM Central time reach the recipient the same business day, and deliveries land between 9 AM and 7 PM, Monday through Saturday. Sunday delivery is not available.

Homes on larger lots at the edge of town may see their arrangement later in the window. A hoped-for hour can go in the notes, as a request only.

To send flowers to Melville for a birthday, a morning order gives the most room, and the card should name the occasion outright.

Flowers sent to a workplace in town should lead with the business name and then the person. Offices that close on Saturday cannot accept anything that day, so a weekday is the safer choice.

Card messages work best short and specific: who you are to the recipient, why you are sending, and your name. A relative who has not seen the family in years should add the connection so nobody has to guess.

Flowers delivered to a small town often end up on a kitchen table or a front-room shelf. A design around the middle of the size range suits that setting, and a tall piece suits a church hall or a service better.

If a bloom is out that week

Flower types may be substituted for what the florist has on hand, with no change to the size, shape or value of the arrangement. The arrangement type never changes either.

Most swaps are close cousins in color and form. A favorite flower can be requested in the notes, though never guaranteed.

For sympathy pieces, substitution matters less than people fear; the shape and scale of the design are what mourners see.

Plants follow the same rule. A potted plant may come in a slightly different pot or as a close relative of the one pictured, but a plant ordered is a plant delivered, at the size chosen.

Last step: the picture in your inbox

The photo is sent once the florist has made the arrangement. It shows the real design, including any substituted stem, and it is yours to keep or forward.

If something looks wrong, report it in the first three days, since flowers are perishable; a replacement, a refund or a partial credit can follow.

Senders far away often forward the photo to siblings and cousins, which saves the recipient several calls describing the same flowers.

For a care-home resident or a hospital patient, the photo also confirms the room received the design you chose, even if nobody calls that evening.

A flower shop in Melville is what many people search for; here a Melville florist or one nearby makes the design by hand. The arrangement catalog is where you order flowers for any occasion, and addresses elsewhere in Louisiana begin on the Louisiana delivery page.
