Lawtell Flower Delivery in St. Landry, LA

Telling Lawtell apart from Opelousas

The communities around here share roads, churches and sometimes mail routes. A family that says it lives in Lawtell may get its letters as Opelousas, LA, as Church Point, LA or as Sunset, LA, and the order should carry whatever town and ZIP the recipient's envelopes show. Both 70570 and 70550 appear for this area.

That check keeps flower delivery in Lawtell, LA on schedule. When the name says one place and the ZIP another, the florist has to phone someone first, and if nobody picks up, the flowers sit a day longer than they should.

The community belongs to St. Landry Parish, LA, a parish of 80,869 people whose courthouse is in Opelousas, and the parish page lists Eunice, Grand Coteau, Leonville and Melville among others. For relatives just over the line, Acadia Parish, LA has its own page.

Houses spread along rural roads

Orders for the 1,066 people counted here in 2020 go almost entirely to houses, many of them some distance apart on rural roads. The address needs a house number, the road name and a landmark in the notes, such as a gate, a church or a barn, and a number where someone can answer.

A post office box cannot receive flowers. Deliveries arrive between 9 AM and 7 PM, Monday through Saturday, and Sunday delivery is not available.

Same day flower delivery in Lawtell needs the order in before 1 PM Central time. For a sender in Alaska that is 10 AM on their own clock, and on the East Coast it is 2 PM.

Lawtell has no city hall to consult

Lawtell is census-designated, with no town hall or city limits, so there is no official line to tell a sender where the community ends. The post office decides, and the envelope is the proof: copy its town and ZIP onto the order, and look for Lawtell LA on the summary before you pay if that is what the mail shows.

Heat matters on a rural porch, even in autumn. If nobody will be home, name a neighbor who can take the flowers in, since a bouquet left in the afternoon sun wilts fast in Louisiana.

Stems may change; the vase does not

Florists work with the stems on hand, so a flower type in the catalog picture may be substituted with a similar one. Nothing about the arrangement moves: size, shape and value are locked to what you ordered, and the look is kept as close to the picture as possible.

A peach rose may become a peach carnation, a purple iris a purple stock. A vase design still arrives in a vase, a basket in a basket, and a tall design stays tall.

A favorite flower can go in the notes as a hope; a florist in Lawtell will read it, but the order goes ahead if that one stem is missing.

Proof of the design, sent your way

Once the design is made, a photo of the finished arrangement is sent to you at no extra charge. It shows the flowers as they were built, including any swapped stem, so a sender in another state sees what the recipient will see.

The picture is worth keeping for a few days. If a bloom is crushed or the card is wrong, a complaint raised within three days of delivery can lead to a replacement, a refund or a partial credit.

Senders who split the cost with siblings often forward the photo, which saves a long description over the phone and shows everyone what the shared gift looked like.

A pothos that outlives the roses

Cut flowers make the brighter entrance and last about a week; a plant starts quietly and stays for months. For anniversary flower delivery in Lawtell, cut roses suit the evening; for a new neighbor or someone living alone, a plant is still there long after the card has been read.

Funeral flowers in Lawtell often combine the two: a spray or wreath at the funeral home, sent under its name with the service time, then a plant for the family house later in the week.

Who to tell before a surprise

Let one person in the house in on the secret. A partner or a grown child can make sure someone is home and the dog is inside, so the flowers are handed over rather than left outside.

People searching for a flower shop in Lawtell can send flowers to Lawtell from here: order flowers from the catalog, and a Lawtell florist makes the design by hand. Other towns, and flower deliveries across the state, are on the Louisiana page.

Flowers delivered as a surprise to a workplace are easier still, since a front desk is staffed on weekdays; just name the business and department so the flowers reach the right counter.
