Hammond, LA Flower Delivery Arranged by Hand

Surgery recovery flowers at Cypress Pointe

A box of flowers shipped by mail arrives as loose stems in plastic, and the recipient does the rest. Same day flower delivery in Hammond skips that: a local florist arranges the design in its vase or basket and it is handed over complete, which matters most when the recipient is a patient with no energy to arrange anything.

The line for same-day orders is 1 PM Central time. An order placed before 1 PM Central time goes out that day, between 9 AM and 7 PM; after that, it moves to the next delivery day. Deliveries run Monday through Saturday.

For a patient recovering at Cypress Pointe Surgical Hospital, the order needs the patient's name as the hospital has it and a room number if the family knows it. A surgical stay can be short, so check the discharge date before choosing the day; flowers that arrive after the patient has gone home only have to be carried back out.

The other hospitals in town, North Oaks Medical Center among them, work the same way: name, room, and a design small enough for a bedside tray. A tall arrangement is awkward next to monitors and water cups; a low vase or a small plant is kinder. Flower rules vary by unit, so a word with the family first saves a wasted delivery.

The city counted 19,623 residents in 2020 across about fourteen square miles, so Hammond flower delivery goes to hospital rooms and offices as often as to houses. For an office, the business name and the department belong on the order.

Ponchatoula, Kentwood and the parish page

The city is part of Tangipahoa Parish, LA, whose seat is Amite City. The parish page lists Kentwood, Roseland, Independence and the other towns with their own pages, which helps when a family needs flowers delivered in two places on the same day. Each of those towns is its own order, so a second bouquet for a cousin in Ponchatoula needs its own address and card.

Close neighbors Ponchatoula, LA and Natalbany, LA each have a page, as does Tickfaw, LA. If the recipient's mail carries one of those names, the order belongs there, even if they describe themselves as living in the city.

The parish also touches Mississippi; Pike County, MS has its own page for flowers sent across the state line.

Towns called Hammond also exist in Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois, so before paying for the flowers, check that the order reads Louisiana and one of the local ZIPs, 70401 to 70404.

Hammond funeral chapels in the 70401 ZIP

Funeral flowers in Hammond are usually addressed to a funeral chapel, and at least one sits in the 70401 ZIP. The order needs the chapel's name, the date and hour of the service, and the family name, so the arrangement is in the right room before the doors open.

An easel piece suits a large service, and a smaller vase arrangement suits a visitation. If the service is on a Saturday morning, order a day ahead, since a same-day order placed that morning may not arrive in time.

If the family has asked for donations instead of flowers, a small arrangement for the house a week or so later is usually still welcome.

Hammond birthdays when Sunday is off the table

Sunday delivery is not available, so a birthday that falls on Sunday gets its flowers Saturday or Monday. Saturday is the usual pick: the bouquet has a day to open, and the recipient has it on the table for the whole weekend.

To order flowers for a Hammond birthday, pick a size for the room it will stand in: a small bouquet for an apartment, a fuller one for a family house, something compact for a desk.

A newborn home from the maternity floor

Most new parents come home within two or three days. Flowers sent to a maternity ward often have to be carried home again, so the house is usually the better address, a few days after the family is back and the first wave of visitors has passed.

Keep it low and easy: a plant or a short vase arrangement that nobody needs to trim. A card with warm wishes for the baby and the parents, signed with names they will recognize, is plenty. Older siblings can be included with a line of their own.

Chapel easels versus the family kitchen

Sympathy flowers to Hammond meant for the family, rather than the service, go to the house. A plant lasts longer than cut flowers, which helps in the quiet weeks after the funeral, and a card that says where you met the person who died gives the family a small story to hold on to.

Every Hammond florist order follows one rule: flower types can be swapped for what the local florist has on hand, but the size, shape and value of the arrangement stay the same. After the florist finishes, a photo of the finished arrangement is sent to you at no extra charge.

There is no flower shop in Hammond on this page with a counter or a showroom; a florist in Hammond or nearby makes each design, and it is handed over at the door.
