Mount Vernon, IA Flower Delivery for Campus and Home

Cornell College sits in town, and flowers for a student or a staff member there take a little planning. Flower delivery in Mount Vernon, IA to a campus address needs the residence hall and room for a student, or the department and office for staff. A lecture hall is the wrong target; nobody signs for flowers mid-class.

Ask the student for their full campus mailing address before ordering, and use it exactly. For a staff member, confirm the office is staffed during the day, since deliveries arrive between 9 AM and 7 PM.

Same day flower delivery in Mount Vernon needs the order in before 1 PM Central time. An Eastern clock reads 2 PM at that moment, a Mountain clock noon. Delivery runs Monday through Saturday, and Sunday delivery is not available.

Mount Vernon doors, dorms and a care center

The town had 4,536 people in 2020, on about 3.5 square miles, so flower deliveries go to houses, apartments, campus buildings and a care center. A house needs its number and street; an apartment its unit number.

At Hallmark Care Center, the front desk accepts flowers for residents. Give the resident's name as the staff use it and the room number if family has it, and pick a low design for a bedside table.

Anyone searching for a flower shop in Mount Vernon to phone will not find a counter here. Designs are chosen from the catalog, and a local florist in Iowa does the arranging and the hand-off at the door.

On the edge of town, some addresses use rural routes. Copy the route line from the recipient's own mail, and add a note about the lane or the door if the house is set back.

Cedar Rapids offices and the Linn County page

The town sits in Linn County, IA, a county of 231,762 people whose seat is Cedar Rapids. Someone who works at a county office in Cedar Rapids should get flowers at that office, not at home. The county page lists Marion, Hiawatha, Center Point and many more.

Nearby, Lisbon, IA and Mechanicsville, IA have their own pages, and Cedar County, IA covers addresses over that county line. The name is shared with towns in a dozen other states, among them Ohio, Washington, New York and Kentucky, so check that the order reads Mount Vernon IA 52314 before you pay.

Flowers for Cornell College residence halls

For a student at Cornell College, the residence hall name and room number go on the order, along with the student's full name. Campus housing often has a front desk or mail room that accepts deliveries; if not, the student should know to watch for it. Put a note in the instructions if the student has asked for flowers to be left with a roommate.

The graduation ceremony itself is no place for a delivery. Send flowers to the student's residence the day before, or to a family house for the party.

For a professor or staff member, the department name and office number are what the order needs. Funeral flowers in Mount Vernon for a member of the college community go to the venue named in the notice, not to campus. A card for a colleague can come from a department as a group; sign it with the department name so the family knows who remembered.

A Mount Vernon birthday with no Sunday option

Nothing goes out on Sundays, so a birthday on that day needs the flowers on Saturday. Say in the card that you wanted them to have the weekend with the flowers. For a student, check that they will actually be on campus that Saturday.

For a birthday, flower delivery in Mount Vernon arrives between 9 AM and 7 PM, so a weekday arrival may meet an empty room; a Saturday is often safer for anyone who works or studies. Around Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas and Easter, the same-day hour may be set earlier, so a birthday in those weeks should be ordered a day ahead.

New parents, and the right day to send

A new baby brings a week of odd hours and visitors. Wait until the family has been home for a day or two, then order flowers for a weekday morning. A small arrangement fits a crowded counter, and a plant needs almost no care. Put both parents' names on the card, and add the baby's name only if the family has already shared it with you.

Flower types may be substituted for what the florist has on hand, with no change to the size, shape or value. A photo of the finished arrangement is sent to you after the florist makes it. To send flowers to Mount Vernon for a new baby, a florist in Mount Vernon territory arranges the design, a Mount Vernon florist brings the flowers delivered by hand, and the Iowa delivery page lists other towns.
