Flowers Delivered Across Ray County, MO

Substituted Stems and the Richmond Order

Ray County orders go to a florist working near the recipient, who builds the piece by hand on the day it is due. Flower types may be substituted for whatever that florist has on hand, with no change to the size, shape or value of the arrangement. Over the 569 square miles the county covers, that is what keeps a Wood Heights address as dependable as a Richmond one.

An order for Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond does better with a room number written on the card, and the same is true at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, which is also a Richmond address.

The 1 PM Line for Hardin

Same-day delivery to Hardin turns on one number. An order placed before 1 PM Central time reaches a Hardin address the same business day, and one placed later moves to the next. Flower delivery runs Monday through Saturday, and Sunday delivery is not available anywhere in Ray County. Deliveries land between 9 AM and 7 PM, so an afternoon order for a 64024 address is an evening arrival rather than a morning one.

A sender in another time zone has the harder job, because 1 PM in Richmond arrives while the morning still feels early further west. Placing the order a day ahead removes the guesswork for any of the four Ray County towns.

Orrick and Hardin sit at opposite ends of the county from one another, and the 64077 and 64035 ZIP codes belong to them. An order that carries a street and a town but no ZIP code at all is the most common reason a delivery here needs a second run at it.

Picking a Size for Wood Heights

Wood Heights is the smallest of the four, and a piece meant for a kitchen table there needs a smaller footprint than one going to a hall in Richmond. Height is the measurement senders forget, because a tall vase reads as generous in a photo and awkward on a bedside table.

Sorting by size in the arrangement catalog settles that faster than guessing, and it is the same catalog behind all four Ray County town pages.

A workplace address in Richmond takes a different piece again: something that sits on a desk without needing water topped up by a colleague, and something the recipient can carry home on a car seat at the end of the shift. The 64085 ZIP code covers both kinds of address, which is why the card matters as much as the flowers do.

Four Towns and 569 Square Miles

Richmond is the county seat and carries the longest address list of the four, while Orrick, Hardin and Wood Heights each have a page listing the ZIP codes under them.

The four towns are spread over 569 square miles, and 23,199 people live in Ray County, which is why an address at one edge and an address at the other can look nothing alike. Every county page in MO, Ray included, hangs off the Missouri delivery index.

An address that turns out to sit outside Ray belongs on the Lafayette County, MO page or another county page in Missouri instead. Once the florist working near Richmond has finished the arrangement, a photo of it is sent through at no extra charge, so a sender three states away sees exactly what was handed over.
