Ames, IA Flower Delivery for Campus and Home

Campus flowers for Ames business students

The Iowa State University College of Business is one of the named colleges in town, and flowers for a student, a professor or a staff member there need more than a street address. Put the building name, the department and the office or room number on the order, with the recipient's full name as the college knows it. A graduate student may share an office, so a room number alone is rarely enough.

Graduation weekends, thesis defenses and award ceremonies are the usual reasons to send flowers to a campus address. To send flowers to Ames for a graduation, the family home or the graduate's apartment is often safer than a building that will be empty on commencement day. For a defense or an award, a weekday delivery to the department office puts the flowers in front of colleagues. Flowers for someone at the Iowa State University College of Health and Human Sciences follow the same addressing: building, department, room.

Same day flower delivery in Ames follows the Central clock. An order in before 1 PM Central time can reach the recipient that afternoon, between 9 AM and 7 PM; later orders go out on the next business day. For parents on the East Coast, the same moment reads 2 PM on their own clock.

Ames among the Story towns

The city belongs to Story County, IA, a county of 102,498 residents, and with 66,428 people counted in 2020 it sends flower deliveries to every kind of address, from dorm rooms to farmhouses. The five ZIP codes, 50010, 50011, 50012, 50013 and 50014, cover different parts of a city spread over more than 27 square miles, so copy the ZIP from the recipient's own mail.

Several neighbors have their own pages. Gilbert, IA and Huxley, IA are close by, and Story City, IA is another town in the county. Recipients over the line in Boone County, IA are covered from that county, and the Iowa delivery page lists every other town in the state.

There is also an Ames in Texas, and a flower order typed in a hurry can end up there. Before paying, check that the order reads Iowa and a ZIP beginning with 500. A search for Ames IA brings you here; a bare town name may not.

Service flowers at Grandon Funeral and Cremation

Grandon Funeral and Cremation is one of the funeral homes in ZIP 50010, and Adams Funeral Home is another. Sympathy flowers to Ames usually go to whichever of them is handling the service. Put the funeral home name, the name of the person being honored, and the date and hour of the visitation or service on the order, so the arrangement is in place before guests arrive.

Standing sprays and casket pieces belong at the funeral home. For the family, a basket, a vase or a green plant sent to the house later in the week is often remembered longest. If the family has asked for memorial gifts in place of flowers, a small plant at the house respects that wish without ignoring the loss.

Names that make an Ames card clear

A big city means your first name may be one of several the recipient knows. Sign the card with your full name or the name they use for you, and add a detail if needed, such as a former roommate or a cousin from the other side of the family. The card is printed exactly as you type it, so check spellings.

Ames flower delivery for a birthday needs only a line about the year ahead on the card. For a thank-you, name the favor. For a patient at Mary Greeley Medical Center, keep it warm and brief, and skip medical details, since nurses and visitors may read it too.

Office orders near campus and hospital

Workplace flowers usually go through a reception desk. Put the company or department name, the recipient's name and a floor or suite number on the order, and pick a weekday. Deliveries run Monday through Saturday, yet university offices and many businesses close before the end of the delivery window, and there is no Sunday delivery to fall back on.

For a hospital employee, send to the department rather than to a patient floor, and name the unit. A florist in Ames or nearby can include a card with each order, and the florists near Ames arrange every design by hand.

Student apartments and locked lobbies

Apartment buildings with a locked entry need a unit number and a phone number for the recipient. If there is a front desk, the arrangement is usually handed to the staff there. Student housing turns over each year, so confirm the current address, not last year's.

For care homes such as Northridge Village or Green Hills Health Care Center, write the resident's name as the staff know it and add a room number if you have one.

Several gifts, one address, one charge

When you order flowers and a gift for the same person, place them in one order to one address; the delivery charge then applies once. Gifts to different addresses, for example flowers for a graduate and a separate arrangement for the parents, need separate orders, each with its own charge.

Each design is made from the flower types the local florist has available; a flower type may be substituted, but the size, shape and value stay as ordered. Once the arrangement is finished, a photo of it is sent to you at no extra charge. People looking for a flower shop in Ames do not need one to send any of this. Flower delivery in Ames, IA works through the full arrangement catalog, and flowers delivered to campus, the hospital or a house follow the same rules as all our flower deliveries in Iowa.
