Lake Station, IN Flower Delivery Carried by Hand

Houses, apartments and the 46405 ZIP

A shipped gift box spends a night or two in a truck and lands on a step with the stems packed flat. A hand-delivered arrangement skips all of that: it leaves the florist already arranged, in water, and it is handed to a person or left at the door the same day. That is the practical difference behind flower delivery in Lake Station, IN.

The 2020 census counted Lake Station at 13,278 people, living on a little over eight square miles, so most orders go to houses on numbered streets and to apartment buildings rather than to long rural routes. For an apartment, put the unit number and the building entrance on the order. For a house, the street number and the 46405 ZIP normally give the florist all that is needed.

Same day flower delivery in Lake Station runs on the recipient's Central time clock: an order placed before 1 PM Central time can go out that afternoon. Someone on Eastern time sees that line arrive at 2 PM on their own watch, and a sender on the Pacific coast sees it at 11 AM. Deliveries land between 9 AM and 7 PM, Monday through Saturday.

Is the house really in Lake Station?

Plenty of people write this town's name when the house actually sits in a community next door. Look at an envelope the recipient has received, or ask a relative which town name is printed on it. Deliveries to New Chicago, IN and to Hobart, IN are set up under those names, and Portage, IN, which lies outside Lake County, is handled from its own listing as well.

Switching the town does not move the clock, since all of them keep Central time, but it does change the ZIP. The 46405 code is this town's. If the recipient's mail shows a different code, the order belongs with that town instead.

Lake Station orders and the Crown Point seat

Lake Station is one of many towns inside Lake County, IN, a county whose 502,955 residents receive flower deliveries all week long except Sunday, and whose seat is Crown Point. An order bound for someone who works in the county offices at the seat should go on the Crown Point page.

Recipients over the line in Porter County, IN are covered from that county's page, and a family member living across the state border in Illinois can be reached through Cook County, IL. For anywhere farther inside the state, start from the Indiana delivery page, which reaches every Indiana town the site covers.

A card for the anniversary, not the whole speech

An anniversary is one of the easier things to mark in Lake Station, because a weekday date only needs the order in before 1 PM on the Central clock. A preferred hour can go into the notes as a wish, never as a promise, and most couples are home somewhere inside the 9 AM to 7 PM stretch anyway.

A Sunday anniversary has to shift, since Sunday delivery is not available. Saturday puts the flowers in the house before the day itself, which many people prefer to a Monday that arrives after it. Sign the card with both first names if it comes from a couple, and add a line only the two of them would recognize.

Recovering at home instead of on a ward

Get well flowers for someone back home from surgery have to live on a kitchen counter or a nightstand, not in a hospital room with a wide windowsill. A compact vase or a potted plant works better than a tall design that has to be moved every time someone sets down a plate.

Pick a day when a partner or a visiting relative is around. If the recipient cannot get to the door quickly, mention that in the notes. Flowers delivered to a recovering patient often mean more when they arrive a few days after the operation, once the first wave of visitors has gone.

Graduation parties on a Saturday

Graduation season around here tends to mean open houses in backyards and garages on Saturday afternoons. A Saturday party is well within reach, as long as the order is in before 1 PM Central, and a bright table arrangement fits better than a bouquet the graduate has to hold all day.

For a graduate who has moved away to study, the address may be a dorm or a shared apartment outside Indiana entirely. Then the order should use the campus town and ZIP, not 46405.

A retirement or a promotion at the office

Workplace deliveries go to a reception desk during business hours, so write the company name, the department and the recipient's full name on the order. A retirement party that ends mid-afternoon needs the flowers to arrive early, so order flowers for it the day before. Lake Station flower delivery to a workplace is otherwise the same as to a house; the arrangement catalog shows each design at three sizes.

Anyone searching for a florist in Lake Station or a flower shop in Lake Station for an office event can order here: a Lake Station florist or one nearby makes the design by hand. Funeral flowers in Lake Station follow the same process, sent to the funeral home that holds the service, with the full name and the hour.

Flower types may be swapped for what the florist has that morning, but the size, the shape and the value of the design stay as ordered. Once the arrangement is finished, a photo of it is sent to you at no extra charge. To send flowers to Lake Station IN for any occasion, pick the design, fill in the address and the card, and the rest is done locally.
