Skokie, IL Flower Delivery by Hand

Addresses that belong to Evanston instead

A large village has large borders, and many families give it as home when their mail goes to a neighbor. If the recipient's envelope says Lincolnwood, IL, Evanston, IL or Morton Grove, IL, order from that town's page so the ZIP matches the house.

Three ZIPs, 60076, 60077 and 60203, cover the village. Flower delivery in Skokie, IL depends on matching the ZIP to the one on the recipient's mail. With 67,823 residents in 2020 on about ten square miles, the orders here go to houses, apartment buildings, offices and care residences.

Flower delivery in Skokie to an apartment building goes more smoothly with the unit number and any building name on the order, plus the name on the buzzer if it differs from the recipient's own.

An order to a house needs only the street, number, ZIP and a name, though a side-door note helps if the front entrance is rarely used.

Out-of-state senders should work from Central time. An order in before 1 PM Central time can arrive the same day; on the East Coast that moment shows as 2 PM, on the West Coast as 11 AM. Anything that comes in after it is made for the next delivery day.

Flowers for a room at Skokie Hospital

For a patient at Skokie Hospital, include their first and last name and the room number if you have it. Hospitals move patients, so confirm the room on the morning you order if the stay has run more than a day or two.

If a discharge is expected soon, a delivery to the house the next day may be the safer choice. A get-well card for a patient should be short and cheerful; it may be read many times from the bed.

A compact vase arrangement fits a hospital room better than a large piece. Deliveries arrive between 9 AM and 7 PM, Monday through Saturday, and Sunday delivery is not available.

The same applies to a student at Hebrew Theological College: use their full name, the building and the room, and pick a design small enough for a desk. For a care resident at Warren Barr Lieberman, add the room number too.

Skokie IL inside a very large county

Cook County, IL counts 5,182,617 residents, with Chicago as the county seat. Relatives spread across several Cook towns are easiest to find from the county page. For a family split between Illinois and Indiana, place one order per address, each from that state's own page.

Some families live across the county line in Lake County, IL, which has its own page. Sympathy flowers to Skokie often go to one of the funeral homes in the village, such as Donnellan Funeral Home, Haben Funeral Home and Crematory or Chicago Jewish Funerals - Skokie Chapel; ask the family which one is handling the service.

Traditions vary by family and faith, and some families prefer no flowers at a service. Ask first, and if flowers are welcome, send a vase design or a plant to the house afterward. If the service is already over, a plant for the family home is a gentler follow-up than a large arrangement.

A carnation for a rose, same arrangement

Flower types may be substituted for what the florist has on hand, but there is no change in size, shape or value. The design stays as close to the one you ordered as possible.

A florist in Skokie or nearby makes the arrangement by hand. Anyone looking for a flower shop in Skokie to pick something up will find a delivered service instead, with the design chosen from the arrangement catalog.

A mixed design with several flower types handles substitution well, since the overall look holds even if one type is short that week. Choosing by color rather than by a single flower keeps the look steady: a white-and-green design stays white and green even if one stem is swapped.

Proof of the finished piece, by photo

A photo of the finished arrangement is sent to you after the florist makes it, at no extra charge. For a sender in another state, it is the only way to see what arrived. It helps with a sympathy order too, when you cannot attend and want to see what stood there in your name. Relatives who split the cost can all get a copy from whoever placed the order.

The photo also shows any substitution, so you can see how close the arrangement is to what you picked. Same day flower delivery in Skokie comes with the same photo as any other order.

To send flowers to Skokie for a birthday or an anniversary, confirm the ZIP, sign the card and order before 1 PM Central time for delivery that day.

A plant for weeks, cut stems for days

A plant lasts weeks; cut flowers last days. For a patient on a long hospital stay or a care resident, a plant is often the better gift. For a birthday, cut flowers make more of a show. For an office, cut flowers brighten a shared desk for a week, while a plant can stay on a windowsill much longer; in an apartment with little light, cut stems are the easier choice.

Skokie flower delivery for either kind is the same: arranged by a Skokie florist, hand-delivered, and followed by a photo. Flowers delivered to other towns in Illinois start from the Illinois delivery page, and order flowers or flower deliveries across the state follow the same schedule.
