Stock in a northern Iowa cooler is narrower in January than in June, and that is the plain reason a substitution rule exists at all. A specific hour can be requested and will be passed on, though it is never promised, since the route is built from every other stop.

Peak weeks move the line earlier. Before Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Christmas and Easter the same day cutoff can be brought forward and the popular designs are gone first. A Britt or Garner order in one of those weeks belongs in the system two days ahead of the date it is wanted.
