Rapid Valley beside the Pennington towns

The town lies in South Dakota's Pennington County, SD, whose seat is Rapid City, SD. The county page lists Hill City, Johnson Siding, New Underwood and Wall, and Lawrence County, SD, Meade County, SD and Oglala Lakota County, SD have pages beside it. The South Dakota delivery page covers the remaining towns.

For a recipient who splits time between a home here and another address in the county, place two orders, one for each address, and keep both inside the 1 PM Mountain time line. An order with several items to the same address is charged for delivery once, while a second address is a second order. A family that wants a plant for the grandmother and a bouquet for the cousin down the street should place two orders and note on each which door it is for, since the florist reads the notes line for the details a street name cannot give.

A mailing name that may differ from the map

The label census-designated place applies here, which means no town hall stands behind the name, and the address on an envelope may carry another town name above ZIP 57703. Ask the recipient to read the line off a piece of mail and copy it into the order, because the florist works from that address and from nothing else.

The same advice holds for funeral flowers in Rapid Valley. The address of the family and the address of the service are separate, and the notes should say which one the arrangement is going to. If the service is somewhere else in the county, name the place and the hour.

Flowers for Green Valley, Box Elder or Ashland Heights

Close by are Green Valley, SD, Box Elder, SD and Ashland Heights, SD, each with a page and each following the same Monday-through-Saturday schedule. Colonial Pine Hills and Blackhawk are listed as well.

If a recipient gives a street and says it is near here, ask which of these towns appears on their mail. A bouquet ordered under the wrong name arrives at the wrong address, and the cutoff only starts counting once the correct address is in the order. A short phone call to the recipient before paying settles it, and the answer is worth writing into the notes as well, so the florist has the same address you do. Flowers delivered to the wrong place cannot be taken back, which is why this question comes first.

Candlelight at home: an anniversary order for Rapid Valley

The 2020 count recorded 8,098 people on 6.466 square miles, which means a good many family homes where a bouquet will land on a dining table, so size the arrangement to the table and not to the card, and pick a color that suits a dining room with a window. An anniversary dinner at home calls for flowers that do not block the view across it.

Write the card for the other half of the couple, add the street and any gate note to the address of the order, and ask in the notes for a preferred time, understanding that a time is a request.
