Three ZIP codes cover most addresses, 57701, 57702 and 57703, and the right one is part of every order. Sunday delivery is not available.

A florist in Rapid City or one of the florists near Rapid City makes each design. Typing flower shop in Rapid City into a search bar will not lead to a counter on this site; the order is placed here, and the finished arrangement is photographed before it goes out and the photo is sent to the sender at no extra charge.

Flowers meant for Rapid City, not Michigan

Rapid City is also the name of a town in Michigan, so a sender who types the name from memory should check the state before paying for flowers delivered here. The order summary should read South Dakota and one of the three ZIP codes, not just the town name, and a recipient's mail is the quickest way to confirm both.

Searches typed as Rapid City SD reach this page. If a recipient says they live nearby, ask which town the mail uses: Rapid Valley, Green Valley, Ashland Heights, Colonial Pine Hills, Box Elder and Blackhawk all have pages, and the cutoff on each is the same. Order flowers on the page that matches the mailing address, not the one that matches the drive, and keep the whole order inside the 1 PM Mountain time line for that page.

Apartments, offices and wards across 54.7 square miles

The 2020 count recorded 74,719 people on 54.7 square miles, which is a long list of apartment buildings, office suites and hospital wards besides houses, and every one of them needs a unit number or a department in the address of the order. Put the unit in the address field and the department in the notes, and a florist can find the right door.

For a patient at Black Hills Surgical Hospital, the staff at its front desk can say whether flowers go up. For a care home such as Avantara Mountain View or Westhills Village Health Care Facility, the resident's name and room matter most. A student at National American University or Western Dakota Technical Institute should have a building name and a department on the card, since a campus has more than one front door.

The seat of Pennington, and the towns around it

The city is the seat of Pennington County, SD, and the county page lists Hill City, Johnson Siding, New Underwood and Wall and other places. Hill City, SD and Wall, SD have pages of their own, for orders that belong to those towns and not to this city.

Next door, Lawrence County, SD, Meade County, SD and Oglala Lakota County, SD have pages too. Funeral flowers in Rapid City go to the funeral home or the family, and the notes should name which, along with the hour of the service. Osheim and Schmidt Funeral Home is the one funeral home on record, and an order for a service there should carry the family's surname and the time.

Saturday bouquets for a birthday in Rapid City

A birthday that falls on a Sunday cannot be met with Sunday delivery, so the bouquet comes on Saturday or Monday. Most senders pick Saturday, put the party date in the card, and let the photo of the finished arrangement confirm the colors. For a Saturday bouquet, place the order by Friday afternoon if you can, since a Saturday order has to clear the 1 PM Mountain time line too.

If a flower type is out, a substitute may be used, with no change to the size, shape or value of the arrangement. A preferred time can be mentioned in the notes as a request, but it is not guaranteed, and the window stays 9 AM to 7 PM.

New parents, at home or in a hospital room

A new baby means a house full of visitors or a ward full of nurses, and the flowers need to fit either. Order flowers for new parents with the unit and the mother's surname on the card if it is a ward, and a plain card if it is a front door. A small arrangement is easier on a hospital tray table than a large one.

To send flowers to Rapid City for a newborn, use any Monday through Saturday and keep the order inside the 1 PM Mountain time line. Rapid City flower delivery to a house after the family is back home can be arranged for a quiet afternoon in the notes, as a request. See the bouquets and plants for a size that suits a nightstand, or the South Dakota delivery page for the rest of the state.
