Old Forge, PA Flower Delivery by Hand

A tight borough: what 8,504 people mean for deliveries

Old Forge is a borough in Lackawanna County, PA, and its 2020 population of 8,504 shares just 3.427 square miles of land, so a florist near Old Forge usually delivers to houses built close together or to apartments, where a unit number on the address decides which door gets the flowers.

Everything in the borough uses ZIP code 18518, which makes an address easy to check. A sender who wants flower delivery in Old Forge, PA needs the street, the unit if there is one, and the recipient's name as it appears on the mailbox, since mixed-up apartment numbers cause more trouble than distance does.

Same day flower delivery in Old Forge depends on one clock. The order must be placed before 1 PM Eastern time, and because Pennsylvania moves its clocks in spring and autumn, read the hour off the recipient's wall rather than your own. Delivery runs Monday through Saturday, and Sunday delivery is not available.

Flowers delivered here arrive between 9 AM and 7 PM. An order that misses the cutoff is not lost; it moves to the next delivery day, which after a Saturday evening means waiting out Sunday and getting Monday.

Apartment buildings often share an entrance, so write the buzzer name or the floor in the notes. A missing detail is the main reason an order slows down, and it is the easiest one for a sender to fix. If the recipient works during the day, a Saturday delivery gives the flowers a better chance of meeting someone at the door.

Sorting Old Forge from Moosic and Duryea

Borough names and mailing names do not always match. Moosic, PA and Duryea, PA are close enough that a recipient might write either one on a return address, and Taylor, PA works the same way, as do Avoca, Dupont and Hughestown. Each has its own page with its own delivery notes.

The search phrase Old Forge PA is the clearest way to separate this borough from namesakes in other states. If you want to send flowers to Old Forge, start from the ZIP, 18518, and confirm that the street really belongs to that code.

Look at the line above the ZIP code on a recent envelope. If it reads like the borough name, this page is the right place to order flowers; if it names another town, follow that town's link and the flowers stay with the florist closest to that address.

Lackawanna County holds many towns, so a quick check of the ZIP before paying keeps a bouquet from being booked for the wrong place. A florist in Old Forge works from the address typed on the order, so a neighboring borough on the envelope should be entered as that borough, and the order sent through its own page. That is the one mistake no cutoff can repair.

Sympathy orders: from the first call to the service

Victor M. Ferri Funeral Home is listed in the borough, and flowers for a service there should be addressed to the funeral home, with the family name and the day of the service on the order. Funeral flowers in Old Forge are best sent a day ahead of the visitation.

If the service falls on a Sunday, order for Saturday, since Sunday delivery is not available. A standing piece usually suits the chapel, while a smaller arrangement can go to the family's house in the days afterward.

The florist builds each sympathy arrangement by hand near the recipient. Flower types may be substituted for what is on hand, but the size, shape and value of the arrangement do not change, and a photo of the finished piece is sent once it has been made.

Keep the card message short and warm, and use the name of the person being remembered only if the family will recognize it. Some families prefer the flowers at the house rather than the chapel, and an order can go either place as long as the notes say which one and give the address in full.

Anniversary flowers for the right Old Forge

There is another Old Forge in NY, so a sender who searches without the state can land on the wrong one. Choose Pennsylvania on the order and confirm 18518, and anniversary flowers for an Old Forge couple reach the couple instead of a stranger in another state.

Anniversaries reward planning: order flowers a day or two early, pick a bouquet that matches how long the couple has been together, and let the card carry the memory. Roses suit a milestone, and a mixed vase suits a quieter year.

For delivery just past the county line, Luzerne County, PA and Wayne County, PA cover nearby ground, the Pennsylvania delivery page lists other towns, and browsing the arrangements shows every size. Old Forge flower delivery follows the same rules as those flower deliveries.

Someone typing flower shop in Old Forge is really looking for the same thing: flowers arranged by hand and carried to the door. A new baby, a birthday or a thank-you for a favor all work on the same plan, with an order a day ahead and a card that names who it is from.
