Palm Beach County, FL Flower Delivery

West Palm Beach, Boca Raton and the towns out west

This is a wide county, 1,964 square miles with about 1.58 million people on it, and the two halves of it behave differently. The coastal strip runs from Jupiter, FL in 33458 down through the seat at West Palm Beach in 33401, Boynton Beach, FL in 33435, Delray Beach, FL in 33445 and Boca Raton, FL in 33486. Inland the character changes: Wellington, FL in 33414, and then miles of cane and vegetable fields out to Belle Glade, FL in 33430 and Pahokee. An address on the coast and an address at the western end are the better part of an hour apart, and they are served on different runs of the same day, which is the practical reason a deadline exists at all. Both ends sit inside the same county page and under the same single deadline.

Substitution, and what does not change

Flower types may be substituted for what the florist has on hand, with no change to the size, shape or value of the arrangement. That is stated up front rather than buried, because it is what happens in practice and nobody enjoys finding out afterwards. The fixed part is the part that was paid for: the type of arrangement, its dimensions and the amount charged are all set when the order goes in, and the only thing that can move is a single variety inside the design, replaced by one of the same color, weight and role. Care is taken to keep the finished piece as close as possible to the one chosen. A photo of the actual arrangement is sent once the florist has made it, at no extra charge, so the policy is something you can look at rather than something you have to take on faith. A dozen roses does not quietly become nine, and a tall design does not come back as a low bowl.

The 1 PM cutoff, measured on Eastern time

Orders placed before 1 PM Eastern time reach the recipient the same business day, and every address in Palm Beach County keeps Eastern time. The zone in that sentence belongs to the recipient, which is the detail that catches out senders who are two or three hours behind it and reading their own clock. Delivery runs Monday through Saturday, and Sunday delivery is not available, so an occasion falling on a Sunday is covered by a Saturday order rather than by hope. Deliveries land between 9 AM and 7 PM, and a specific hour can be requested without being promised, because the route is built once the day's orders are all in. Around Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas and Easter the same-day cutoff can fall earlier than 1 PM, and in those weeks ordering a day ahead is cheaper in worry. A Monday morning need is really a Saturday order, wherever in Florida the address happens to be.

Forty-eight towns, and the page you actually want

Because there are forty-eight of them, and because a good many share a mailing address with a neighbor, the postal code does more work here than the town name. Fifty-seven codes cover the county, from 33403 in the north down to 33496 behind the coast road. There are also a great many gated communities, condominium towers and clubs in Palm Beach County, and for any of those the unit or the villa number matters more than the name of the development, with a phone contact for the recipient behind it. A driver who reaches a gate holding a street address and no number is stuck at the gate. If you already know the town, its page under this one carries the codes and the named places, and it is the faster route to an accurate order. The full catalog shows every design at the size ordered, and a larger size means more stems in the same outline rather than a different piece.

Sympathy flowers to a funeral home or a nursing home

Sympathy is where the timing does real work, since a service starts when it starts and not when the flowers arrive. Beth El Mausoleum in Boca Raton is one of the named addresses on file for this county, and an order to any funeral home wants the full name of the person who has died written on the card, not the surname alone, because more than one service can run in a building on a single afternoon. Standing pieces belong at the place the service is held, and a compact arrangement in its own vase belongs at the family home. This county also holds a very large number of care centers, with Boca Raton Regional Hospital and Good Samaritan Medical Center among the named hospitals, and for a room in any of them low and stable beats tall, with a call to the floor first: intensive care declines flowers almost everywhere. Where the family has asked for flowers at the house instead of the chapel, the compact option is the kind one, because nobody clearing a room for visitors wants to go looking for a vase.

The town called Palm Beach has a page of its own

The town of Palm Beach sits out on the island and has its own page here, separate from this one: Palm Beach, FL covers the town itself and the codes that belong to it, while this page gathers the county around it. The names are close enough that a search for one turns up the other, so it is worth a moment to be sure which of them you want before ordering. Beyond the county line, deliveries continue into Broward County, FL to the south, Martin County, FL to the north and Hendry County, FL out west, and the Florida delivery index lists every county page in the state. Flower delivery anywhere in Florida runs on the same deadline and the same six day week described above. Forty-eight town pages sit beneath this one, and each of them carries the postal codes for its own streets.
