Flowers Along The Curry County, OR Coast

A Thank You For Brookings

A thank you piece for a desk at Brookings works better low and wide than tall, since it has to share the surface with a screen and a phone. A congratulations order for a house at Harbor can take whatever height the hall table allows.

About 22,774 people live along this stretch of the Oregon shoreline, most of them within a few miles of the water. A new baby order more often goes to a house than to a ward here, because Curry General Hospital is a small building and the stays in it are short.

Curry County has no large town at all, which is why a florist here works a route rather than a grid. An order that joins the route first thing in the morning gets the easy half of it; one that joins at the end gets the long way round.

Ordering Before 1 PM In Harbor

Order before 1 PM Pacific time for same-day flower delivery to 97415, 97444 or 97465, which is every ZIP code Curry County has. Anything placed past that hour becomes a next working day order, and on this coast that is rarely a problem worth worrying about.

Flower delivery runs Monday through Saturday from Port Orford down to the state line, Sunday delivery is not available, and the window is between 9 AM and 7 PM. A sender on the east coast is working three hours ahead of Gold Beach, so the morning out here is already half gone.

Hospital Addresses In Gold Beach

Curry General Hospital takes flowers at its main desk rather than at a bedside door, so a patient name and a room number are worth more on the order than any note about the hour. Curry Village Health and Rehab of Cascadia at Brookings works the same way, with a resident's full name doing the heavy lifting.

An address on the highway is found by its number; one up a gravel road is found by what stands next to it. Across 1,628 square miles there is one main road and a great many side turnings, so a landmark in the notes is the difference between one attempt and two.

Port Orford sits at the northern end of that road and Brookings at the southern, with Gold Beach and Harbor spaced out between them. An order placed in the morning covers that comfortably; one placed at the line is working against the map.

Picking A Piece For A Coast House

Salt air and an open window are hard on a delicate arrangement, so the sturdier designs earn their place here. Sort the catalog by size first and by color second, which is the order that makes the choice quick.

Flower types get substituted for what a florist in Curry County can buy that morning, and the type of arrangement holds its size, its shape and its value. A photo of the finished arrangement is sent once it is made, at no extra charge.

Harbor and Brookings sit close enough together that an order naming only one of them can still need its ZIP code to settle it, and Gold Beach keeps a listing of its own further up the shore. Coos County, OR begins north of there, Josephine County, OR lies inland to the east, and the rest of Oregon is at Oregon flower delivery.
