Brooke County, WV Flowers, Hand Carried

An Address in Wellsburg or Bethany

Three ZIP codes cover the whole of Brooke County, and 26070 at Wellsburg sits within twenty minutes of 26032 at Bethany. That closeness is the useful fact on this page: an order here rarely needs a whole afternoon. Brooke County is the second smallest county in West Virginia by land area, and it shows in the driving.

What it does need is a complete address. Brightwood Center in Follansbee takes flowers at a staff desk rather than at a bedside, so a resident name on the order saves a call that nobody wants to make.

Wellsburg Healthcare Center works the same way in 26070. An apartment or room number left off the order is the one avoidable failure here, and the cost of it is a second attempt on a different day rather than a late one the same day.

Pick a Shape for Hooverson Heights

Pick for the Hooverson Heights front room, not for the listing image. A house at Hooverson Heights usually has one good surface in the front room, and a piece wider than it is tall lives there for the week without anything else being moved.

Tall shapes belong in a hall with a table under them or at a service with a stand. In a county this compact most deliveries are houses, so the low wide shapes earn their keep more often than the dramatic ones. A WV address at 26037 is nearly always a house with one front room to work with.

The catalog shows each design at the size it is actually sold in, which settles the desk piece against the floor piece before the order goes in rather than at somebody's front door.

A Funeral in Follansbee

The hour printed on the notice sets the delivery hour rather than the other way round. Standing pieces belong at the hall where the service is held, and the softer arrangement belongs at the family address, which in Brooke County is often only a few streets away.

Ask the family which of the two they want used before ordering both. Flowers waiting at an empty house on the morning of a service are flowers nobody sees until the evening, and that is a poor result for a well chosen piece. Brooke County notices usually carry the hall name rather than the street, so the notice is worth reading twice.

Flower types may be substituted for what a florist near the recipient has in the cooler that morning, with no change to the size, the shape or the value ordered, and a photo of the finished arrangement is sent afterwards at no extra charge.

Four Towns Packed Close Together

Order before 1 PM Eastern time and a Brooke County address gets same-day flower delivery, while an order placed later moves to the next working day. With 21,285 people across 89 square miles the drive is short, but the ordering hour does not stretch to match it.

Flower delivery runs Monday through Saturday in all four towns here, Sunday delivery is not available, and arrivals fall between 9 AM and 7 PM. A Sunday service at Wellsburg has to be met on the Saturday in front of it, which is worth settling early with the family.

Orders also run north into Hancock County, WV, where the page changes and the service does not. Brooke County and its 89 square miles are one entry on the West Virginia county index.
