Flowers Across Scioto County, OH

Ten Towns This Page Collects

Scioto County runs across 610 square miles of southern Ohio hill ground and holds about 71,798 people. Portsmouth is the seat, and Portsmouth anchors the 45662 ZIP code with New Boston tucked against its eastern edge.

Wheelersburg takes 45694 further east and Lucasville holds 45648 to the north. Sciotodale, Clarktown, West Portsmouth, Rosemount, South Webster and Franklin Furnace round out the ten Scioto County towns with listings of their own.

The hill ground matters more here than the mileage does. Those 610 square miles put a West Portsmouth address and a South Webster address at opposite ends of the same run, which is why the ordering hour is one fixed time for the whole of Scioto County, OH rather than a sliding one.

Portsmouth and New Boston share their part of the valley closely enough that an order naming the street but not the town still lands in the right place. Further out that stops being true. Sciotodale, Rosemount and Clarktown sit near enough to one another that the town name on the order is the thing keeping them apart.

Same Day Orders and Wheelersburg

Orders placed before 1 PM Eastern time land at a Wheelersburg or Portsmouth address the same business day. Scioto County keeps Eastern time through the year, so a sender in the mountain zone has two hours less than the clock on her own wall suggests.

Flower delivery runs Monday through Saturday at all seven Scioto County ZIP codes, Sunday delivery is not available, and arrivals fall between 9 AM and 7 PM. A late Friday order for a 45653 address therefore has Saturday in front of it and nothing after that until Monday morning.

Picking a Shape for Lucasville

Size is the first decision, and it is a question about the room rather than about the sender. A tall vase suits a Portsmouth front hall. A low bowl suits a bedside table at Edgewood Manor of Lucasville I, where a spare surface is rare.

Color comes second. Anything sent to Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth is better kept low and lightly scented, because a shared room does not forgive either a big footprint or a strong smell. Kings Daughters Medical Center Ohio, also in Portsmouth, is no different.

The full range sits at the arrangement catalog, sorted by occasion rather than by stem, and a 45682 address is offered exactly what a 45662 address is offered.

Sympathy Orders for Franklin Furnace

In Scioto County a standing piece goes to the service and a smaller arrangement to the house afterward, and the two are almost never wanted at the same hour of the same day.

Crystal Care Center of Franklin Furnace and Ayden Healthcare of Rosemount Pavilion in Portsmouth both take flowers at reception. A unit number keeps the order moving rather than parked at a desk for the afternoon.

Substituted stems are ordinary through a southern Ohio winter, and when one goes in, the size, the shape and the value of the arrangement hold. Once the arrangement is finished a photo of it goes to the sender at no extra charge, which counts for a good deal when a Portsmouth order was paid for three states away.

North of the Scioto County line Pike County, OH picks the route up, while Lawrence County, OH holds the ground downriver to the west. Counties either side of Portsmouth and the rest of the state are listed at the Ohio delivery index.
