Send Flowers to Taos County, NM

Taos County and the town of Taos are two different pages on this site, and the town keeps its own listing with its own ZIP code. This is the wider of the two: 2,202 square miles of northern New Mexico, about 34,482 residents, and seven towns we build pages for.

The 1 PM Line for Taos Orders

An order placed before 1 PM Mountain time is worked the same business day at any address in the county, whether that is 87571 near the plaza or 87556 further up the valley. Flower deliveries run Monday through Saturday and land at all six codes between 9 AM and 7 PM.

Sunday delivery is not available anywhere in Taos County, so a Sunday service is covered by a Saturday run instead. That hour is also the detail senders out of state get wrong: one o'clock at the plaza is still late morning on the west coast, and mid afternoon two zones east.

During Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas and Easter that line can come forward. In a county where the far villages are half an hour of mountain road from the seat, those four weeks are the ones to order a day ahead in.

Substitutions and the Taos Growing Season

Flower types may be substituted for what the florist has on hand, and when that happens the size, the shape and the value of the arrangement stay where they were. Spring runs cold and late at this elevation, so a March order into the mountain villages is likelier to see a swapped filler than a June one.

A photo of the finished arrangement reaches the sender once the florist has made it, at no extra charge. On an order into these six ZIP codes that photo is the quickest way to see which stems actually went in.

Towns Around Questa and Talpa

The seven towns run from Questa in the north down through Arroyo Seco, Ranchos de Taos and Talpa. Six ZIP codes cover all of them, and 87553 in the southern villages is a different afternoon from 87514 at the top of the valley.

The seat holds 87571 largely on its own, and the other five codes are strung thin along the canyon roads, an hour of driving from one end to the other.

The pueblo north of the seat has a listing here as well, under Taos Pueblo. The county itself sits on the New Mexico delivery index, with Rio Arriba County, NM over the gorge to the west and Colfax County, NM beyond the pass to the east.

A Birthday Bouquet for Arroyo Seco

Most of what leaves for addresses here is not sympathy work. A birthday up in Arroyo Seco, a new baby at Holy Cross Hospital a Div of Taos Health Systems, a thank you left at a door in Talpa: one 1 PM Mountain time rule covers all three, and one six day week.

Sympathy work is different. Rivera Family Funeral Home in Taos takes standing pieces at the service address rather than at a family home, and the hour of the service, not the hour of the order, is what the day has to be built around.

Before either kind of order, the arrangement range is worth a look, because a tall design suits a chapel better than a kitchen table in Questa. Anything that arrives wrong should be raised inside three days, since stems at this altitude do not wait for a second look.
