Magdalena and Socorro County, NM

Three Towns on a Very Wide Map

Socorro General Hospital and Socorro Wellness and Rehabilitation stand a block apart on the same highway, and between them they take most of the arrangements that come into this county. Both hand pieces over at a front counter, so a low shape does better than a tall one. Between them they cover 87801, which is where most of the people on this page actually live.

The city of Socorro has a page of its own, separate from this county listing, and a sender who means the town rather than the wider area should use it. Socorro County covers 6.646 square miles for only 15.967 residents, which is among the emptiest ratios in New Mexico. The town page carries the streets; this one carries the ground between them.

Magdalena Birthdays and Thank You Notes

A birthday piece going out to Magdalena on 87825 leaves the seat and does not pass much on the way, which is worth knowing when the order is being timed. A thank you for an office in 87801 is a different job entirely. That westward run is fifty minutes of open road and very little else, so the order wants the earlier part of the day.

The full catalog sets out every design at the height it is built to, which decides between a low bowl for a kitchen and something taller for a hallway. Socorro General Hospital takes bedside pieces where the height has to clear a tray, and a house on the same highway does not.

The 1 PM Line at Polvadera

An order placed before 1 PM Mountain time is delivered the same business day, and out here that hour decides whether the run happens at all today. Deliveries are Monday through Saturday on all three Socorro County roads, Sunday delivery is not available, and the window is between 9 AM and 7 PM.

Polvadera sits north of the seat on 87828 and is the third of the three towns with a page of its own. A preferred hour inside the window can be requested but never promised, and around Valentine's Day and Mother's Day the cutoff can fall earlier. Three postal groups cover the three towns, one each, which is as clean as an address gets out here.

Four Nearby Pages and One Seat

Socorro County touches four of our other pages. Lincoln County, NM lies east across the malpais, Valencia County, NM sits directly north, and Cibola County, NM takes the north west corner. Torrance County, NM closes off the north east, and each of those pages picks up where this one stops.

Flower types may be substituted for what the florist has on hand in Socorro or Magdalena, with no change to the size, shape or value of the arrangement, and a photo of the finished piece follows at no extra charge. New Mexico is indexed county by county at county flower delivery in NM, and a Socorro County delivery that looks wrong has three days to be raised for a replacement, a refund or a partial credit. Senders inside New Mexico and senders three zones east are worked to exactly the same terms out here.
