Welch, WV Flower Delivery, Hand-Arranged

Flowers for a Welch Community Hospital patient

A patient at Welch Community Hospital is reached by flowers in three steps: the patient's full name, the unit or room if the family has it, and the hospital's address with ZIP code 24801. Same day flower delivery in Welch follows the Eastern clock, so an order placed before 1 PM Eastern time can arrive between 9 AM and 7 PM, Monday through Saturday.

Keep the arrangement small enough for a bedside table or a windowsill; a tall design is hard to place beside a bed. A card signed with a familiar name is more welcome than a long message, and a get well line needs only a few words. Order flowers a day early if the hospital stay is planned.

Once the florist has finished the arrangement, a photo of it goes to the sender at no extra charge. For a patient in a hospital room, that photo may be the only way a faraway relative sees what arrived.

Sunday delivery is not available, so a Sunday visit means ordering for Saturday, and flowers delivered on a Saturday afternoon are in the room before the visit. A time you would like can be asked for as a request, though nobody can promise it.

Douglas Mortuary and flowers for the service

Douglas Mortuary handles services in the city, and funeral flowers in Welch are usually addressed to it for the hours of the service or the visitation. Write the mortuary's name on the order as Douglas Mortuary, and add the full name of the person being remembered, the date and the hour.

A family may prefer flowers at the house, and it helps to ask before ordering. Sympathy flowers to Welch homes follow the same hand-delivered path, and the notes should say whether anyone will be there to receive them.

A standing piece suits the room where people gather, while a vase or a plant is easy for a family to keep. A local florist builds either by hand, and a Monday service needs an order placed on Saturday, since no flowers are carried on Sunday.

3,590 people, two ZIP codes, one order

Welch is a city of 3,590 people as of the 2020 census, so flower orders here go to houses, apartments, offices and a hospital, and each order should say which kind of address it is.

Two ZIP codes, 24878 and 24801, appear in the city's addresses, and the hospital and the mortuary both use 24801. Copy the code from the recipient's own mail, not from memory. A search that reads Welch WV can also turn up Oklahoma, so the order should show West Virginia, WV and the right ZIP code before payment.

With 6.037 square miles to cover, an order should carry the street, the house number and the ZIP code, and a florist in Welch or nearby builds the arrangement for the door that those lines name.

McDowell County, WV has its seat in the city, and McDowell County, WV collects the wider area, including Gary, WV, Mullens, WV and Bud, WV. Courthouse and office addresses need the same care as home ones: a name, a department, a room. Mercer County, WV and Wyoming County, WV border it, so family in either needs a separate order.

If a stem is swapped, the arrangement stays

Flower types may be substituted, because a local florist works with the stems available when the order is made. Size, shape and value do not change, and the photo afterward shows what was made.

Ask for a color or a flower in the notes if it matters; that is a request, and the stems on hand decide what is possible.

A birthday in Welch calls for color rather than size: bright stems in a small vase look generous on a kitchen table and do not crowd the cake.

Reading the photo that arrives afterward

A photo of the finished arrangement is sent after the florist makes it, at no extra charge. A sender can compare it with the catalog picture, remembering that stems may differ while the size, shape and value do not.

For a sender far from Gary, WV, Bud, WV or Corinne, WV, the photo is the closest thing to standing in the room when the flowers are set down.

Flower deliveries run between 9 AM and 7 PM, Monday through Saturday, and a time for delivery can be requested for any order, though it cannot be guaranteed.

Something that lasts: a plant or a vase

A living plant keeps going after a bouquet has faded, and cut stems look best on a table where people sit. Sizes for both are on the products page.

For an anniversary, a vase of mixed cut flowers reads as celebration, and a plant reads as something to keep.

Order flowers a day ahead for a plant; a large one is awkward to carry into an apartment building, so choose a size the recipient can move.

A surprise for someone in Welch

A surprise is easiest to pull off when one adult in the house has been told what is coming. Put that adult's name in the notes, with a plain description of the house, and a florist in Welch or close by will make the arrangement the same way.

If the recipient is at work, a delivery to the workplace is a good alternative, with the department named on the order. Send flowers to Welch workplaces with reception in mind: tell the front desk to expect them.

Flower delivery in Welch, WV, like any Welch flower delivery, stays the same whether the recipient expects the flowers or not; the surprise lives in the card. Other towns across West Virginia work the same way. Anyone hunting for a flower shop in Welch will find an order form, not a counter, with the arrangement made by a local florist.
