Where New Straitsville fits among Perry's towns

New Straitsville belongs to Perry County, OH, in Ohio, and the seat is New Lexington, OH, which has a page of its own here. A recipient who says they live in Perry County may mean New Straitsville or any of the other towns around, so the exact mailing town is worth asking for; ZIP 43766 is the one to look for on a village address.

Other towns in the county that have pages include Somerset, OH and Thornville, OH. Athens County, OH and Hocking County, OH touch Perry County as well, so a family near the county edge may use a different county name than the one on a map.

New Straitsville mail that says Nelsonville or Logan

Villages this small share post offices and phone exchanges with bigger neighbors, and mail sometimes carries the larger name. If a recipient's envelope says Nelsonville, OH or Logan, OH, the order goes on that town's page instead of this one. Glouster, OH and Junction City, OH are close enough to cause the same confusion.

For anyone who wants to send flowers to New Straitsville and has only a name and a vague idea of the street, a quick message asking for the full address solves the problem. A florist near the delivery address needs the house number more than anything else. Florists near New Straitsville make each arrangement by hand and the flowers delivered at the door are accompanied by the card, nothing more elaborate. Houses and rural routes behind 43766

For delivery purposes New Straitsville is a village of 653 people (2020) on about 1.3 square miles, so orders go to houses, a few apartments and the occasional rural route, and the recipient's mail shows which form of address applies. Orders placed before 1 PM Eastern time can arrive the same business day, between 9 AM and 7 PM.

Rural routes sometimes carry a box number rather than a street number. If that is the case, put the box number on the order along with the route, and add a landmark such as the color of the house. A route address often belongs to a house that cannot be seen from the road, and a note about the lane helps the person who carries the bouquet.

The village has a modest scale, and that is helpful: orders for the same street can be grouped, so a family sending flowers to two relatives on one road can place two orders with the same ZIP. Each order keeps its own card.

An anniversary vase for a dining table

For an anniversary, a vase arrangement is a more lasting gift than a loose bundle, and the card can mention the year. A preferred hour can be requested on the order; it cannot be guaranteed, so a surprise dinner should not depend on it. New Straitsville flower delivery on a Friday gives a Saturday celebration some margin. Roses are a classic for the day, and a mixed vase with a favorite color works too, since a bouquet delivery can be built around one color family.

Nothing is delivered on Sunday, because delivery runs Monday through Saturday only. When the anniversary falls on a Sunday, order for Saturday, or send the flowers on Monday with a card that makes a joke of it.

Plant or vase for a recovery at home

Get well flowers for a recovery at home work best when they take little room. A plant lasts through a long recovery and needs only a window, and a small vase suits a bedside table. Flower types may be substituted for what the florist has available, but the size, shape and value of the arrangement stay as ordered.

After the florist has made the arrangement, a photo of the finished piece is sent at no extra charge. A sender can compare it with the catalog picture in the arrangement catalog before the flowers delivered to the door arrive.

Graduation week: where to send the bouquet

A graduation bouquet can go to the graduate's house or to a party after the ceremony. Delivery to a school or a hall depends on that place accepting it, so a house address avoids the question. A small village school may close early on the last day, and a family address is open all afternoon. Same day flower delivery in New Straitsville is possible before 1 PM Eastern time, and a bouquet in school colors is easy to pick from a catalog of arrangements.
