Schuyler County, NY Flowers by Hand

Watkins Glen and the 1 PM Hour

An order meant for the same day at Watkins Glen, Montour Falls or Odessa has to be placed before 1 PM Eastern time, and the hour belongs to the address rather than to the person paying. From the west coast that lands mid-morning, well before most senders have thought about flowers.

Flower deliveries run Monday through Saturday to all four Schuyler County postal codes, 14818, 14865, 14869 and 14891, Sunday delivery is not available at any of them, and the window on working days runs between 9 AM and 7 PM.

An order that lands after the hour keeps its place in the queue and becomes the next working day. Because there is no Sunday run, a Saturday evening order in this part of NY is a Monday delivery, and that is worth planning around.

Watkins Glen is the seat and it sits at the southern end of the lake, with Montour Falls a short run below it. Schuyler County is 328 square miles, which sounds modest until an order has to reach a farm road at the outer edge of 14818.

Hospital Addresses at Montour Falls

Schuyler Hospital is the one general hospital on this page and it sits at Montour Falls, in the 14865 postal code. Flowers go to a reception desk rather than to a room, so a full patient name is more useful on the order than a room number is.

Schuyler Hospital Inc and Long Term Care Unit shares the same site and takes deliveries the same way. A resident's room there has a shelf rather than a table, which makes a compact arrangement a better fit than a tall one.

Home addresses out toward Burdett are a different problem. Lane names repeat, house numbers are spaced out along the road, and a written instruction on the order does more good than any amount of map detail.

The four postal codes sit close enough together that most runs are short ones. What decides the day here is almost never the driving; it is whether the order went in before the hour, and that holds at every address on this page.

A Thank You for Odessa

A thank you carries no deadline, and that alone makes it the easiest order on this page to get right. Choose the arrangement, then pick a day that suits the person, and the clock stops being part of the decision at all.

A birthday works the other way, and in a county of 17,121 people spread over 328 square miles the day before is the safer choice. Nothing about that costs more; it simply removes the argument with the hour.

Seasonal supply shifts through the year. When a stem is not available, another of the same kind goes in and the size, the shape and the value of the arrangement are all held. Once the arrangement is finished, a photo of it goes back to the sender.

Four Towns, Burdett Among Them

The four town pages under this one are Watkins Glen, Montour Falls, Odessa and Burdett, and each carries its own postal code and its own named places. Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home is at Watkins Glen and handles service pieces there.

Tompkins County, NY lies away to the east, and Steuben County, NY sits over to the west. The other counties in New York are collected at the New York county index, and the full catalog sorts the same designs by occasion rather than by town.
