Chesapeake, VA Flower Delivery by Hand

Delivery to a Hospital or a House

Chesapeake is an independent city, listed as Chesapeake city, VA, with about 254,997 residents spread over some 338 square miles. That is a lot of ground to cover, and it is why a hand-delivered arrangement makes more sense here than a boxed shipment left on a porch in the sun.

For a hospital patient, write the hospital name on the address line, the patient's full name on the order and a room number in the delivery notes. Chesapeake General Hospital in the 23320 ZIP code is the hospital named in the city; some units restrict flowers, so it is worth checking before you order.

For a house, give the street address, the house or unit number and a phone number for the recipient. With nine ZIP codes, from 23320 to 23328, the right one matters. A post office box cannot be handed an arrangement, so use the address where the recipient will be.

Care homes such as Oak Grove Health and Rehab Center take deliveries the same way as the hospital: facility name first, then the resident's name and room.

Birthday Flowers Delivered in Chesapeake

A birthday in Chesapeake, an anniversary, a graduation or a new baby are the orders that come in most, and each one is made by hand close to the recipient. A mixed vase design suits most birthdays; roses or a two-color design fit an anniversary.

For a new baby, a small arrangement in soft colors or a plant keeps a nursery uncluttered. For a thank-you to a coworker, add the business name and the floor, so the flowers reach the right desk rather than the lobby.

To send flowers to Chesapeake for a surprise, use the notes for anything the person at the door should know, such as a gate code or a side entrance.

Substitutions in a Hand-Made Design

Because the arrangement is made by a florist near the recipient, flower types may be substituted for what the florist has on hand. The type of arrangement does not change: the size, the shape and the value stay as ordered.

In practice, a substitution in a 23322 or 23323 order means one variety in the picture gives way to a close match in color. The container and the outline stay the same, and the design is recognizably the one you picked.

After the florist finishes, a photo of the arrangement is sent to you at no extra charge, so you see the flowers delivered, substitutions and all. It is the one part of a boxed shipment you would never get, and for a relative ordering from outside Virginia it is often the only way to see the gift.

Pick a Design With a Florist in Chesapeake

The products page groups designs by occasion and shows each in its sizes. An apartment table takes the middle size, an office desk the smaller one, and a large living room or a reception the biggest.

Anyone searching for a flower shop in Chesapeake will find no storefront here; the order is placed online, and florists near Chesapeake build it. People who order flowers for several addresses can place one order per address, each with its own delivery charge, while items for the same address share one.

A plant suits someone who travels or would rather not change water, and a low design fits a table where people eat. The card message is typed at checkout, and it is worth keeping to a sentence or two so it fits the card.

Sympathy Flowers for a Service

Funeral flowers in Chesapeake often go to one of the funeral homes named in the city, such as Graham Funeral Home and Chapel, Oman Funeral Home or Twiford Funeral Home. Put the name of the person who died and the date and time of the service on the order, with the funeral home's name on the address line.

For the chapel, a standing spray or a wreath is traditional. For the family home, a vase design or a plant is easier to care for, and it can come a few days later. A Sunday service needs its flowers on Saturday, since there is no delivery on Sundays.

Same Day Flower Delivery in Chesapeake VA

Same day flower delivery in Chesapeake runs on Eastern time: orders placed before 1 PM Eastern time reach the recipient the same business day. A sender on Central time sees that line at noon on their own clock, and one on the Pacific coast at 10 AM.

Delivery runs Monday through Saturday, and Sunday delivery is not available, so an order placed on a Saturday afternoon is brought on Monday. Arrangements arrive between 9 AM and 7 PM, and a preferred time can be requested but not promised.

Around Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas and Easter the same-day cutoff in a city of this size can come earlier, so order a few days ahead; the same goes for graduation season and any date that falls on a Saturday. If something is wrong with a delivery, report it within three days; a replacement, a refund or a partial credit can follow.
