Alexandria, VA Flower Delivery by Hand

After an order goes in, a florist near the recipient takes over. The design and size you picked are built from the stems on hand, set in water or a basket, and taken to the address between 9 AM and 7 PM on the delivery date. The last step is the one you see: a photo of the finished arrangement is sent once the florist has made it, at no extra charge.

Alexandria city, VA is counted in Virginia as its own county-level area, with 159,102 people on about 15 square miles. That density means many ZIPs, from 22314 and 22301 to 22304 and 22311, and a lot of apartment buildings. Flower delivery in Alexandria, VA depends on getting the unit number and building name right.

Birthday Flowers Delivered in Alexandria

Birthday flowers delivered in Alexandria often go to a workplace, since many people spend the day there. Name the business and the department on the order. A bright mixed bouquet in a vase suits a desk; a plant lasts longer if the office is closed over the weekend.

For an anniversary, one color says more than a crowded mix. A new baby arrangement should stay small, since an apartment with a newborn has little free counter space. Congratulations for a new job or a graduation can go to home or office, whichever the person will be at. For a retirement from one of the city's offices, a larger vase design on the last day gives colleagues something to gather around.

Get well flowers for a patient at Inova Alexandria Hospital need the patient's full name and the room number if you know it. Many hospitals take flowers at a front desk, and some units do not allow them, so a quick check with the family first is worth the time.

Hospital, Office and Apartment Addresses

For an apartment, write the building name, the street address and the unit number. A building with a front desk or a package room may hold the flowers there; a phone number for the recipient belongs on the order too. Mail to a box at the post office is fine for letters, but a hand delivery needs a door. Flower deliveries to a large apartment building go smoother with a phone number for the recipient, since a locked lobby is common. If the building has a concierge or a front desk, name it on the order.

For a care center such as Goodwin House Alexandria or Woodbine Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, write the facility name, the resident's full name and a room number. For an office, the company name and floor keep the arrangement from sitting at the wrong reception desk.

If the recipient has a lunch or a meeting to work around, a preferred hour can be written in the notes as a request. It is not a set hour.

Picking a Design Worth Sending

Open the arrangement catalog and start with the room. An apartment side table takes something compact; a dining table can take a fuller design. Soft whites and greens fit sympathy and get well; bright mixes fit birthdays.

For a funeral, a standing spray or a wreath goes to the service with the funeral home's name and the service time; a vase design or plant goes to the family's home. Funeral flowers in Alexandria often go to services in the surrounding area, so write the funeral home's own town on the order.

Substitutions and Stem Availability

Flower types may be substituted for what the florist has on hand, with no change to the size, shape or value of the arrangement. A short supply of one flower means a stem of close color and scale takes its place, and the design keeps its form.
