Sleepy Hollow, NY Flower Delivery, Made by Hand

A Sleepy Hollow address, checked twice

Flower delivery in Sleepy Hollow, NY has a trap built into the name. Sleepy Hollow is also a place name in California, Illinois and Wyoming, so a sender who skims the order form might send flowers to the wrong state without noticing until the confirmation arrives.

The recipient's ZIP, 10591, is the quickest proof that the order is headed for the New York village. Look for it on the confirmation screen, and read the state line before paying, because a florist near the recipient can only deliver to the address that is typed.

Anyone who types Sleepy Hollow NY into a search box is probably looking for this one, though the same words may turn up the other three. Finding a florist in Sleepy Hollow starts with picking the page that names New York and the ZIP code.

What the Westchester part of an order means

The village belongs to Westchester County, NY, whose seat is White Plains, a separate address from this one. An order that mentions White Plains, Tarrytown, NY or Nyack, NY is a different delivery, and the page for each is built for its own streets. The other pages in New York are reached from the New York state page.

Anyone who wants to send flowers to Sleepy Hollow, whether for a birthday or a thank-you, can browse the arrangement catalog first and then enter the street line. People sometimes type flower shop in Sleepy Hollow expecting a storefront; what they reach here is a form, and the arranging is done by a florist near the recipient.

Putnam County, NY and Rockland County, NY lie across the county line inside New York, while Bergen County, NJ is across the state line in New Jersey. A sender who is ordering for relatives in several of them is placing several separate orders.

Same day flower delivery in Sleepy Hollow needs the order placed before 1 PM Eastern time, and a florist in Sleepy Hollow or nearby then arranges it by hand. Orders after that hour wait for the next working day.

Bringing a bedside arrangement to Phelps Hospital

Phelps Hospital sits in the 10591 ZIP code, and flowers for a patient there need the patient's full name, the unit and the room number on the order. Without them, the arrangement has no way to find the bed.

Hospitals can limit which flowers are allowed on some units, so ask the family or the nurses' station before choosing a design. A small arrangement in a low vase is easy to place on a bedside shelf, and the delivery photo shows what was left.

Kendal on Hudson, a nursing home in the village, is another address where the full name and the room matter more than the street. Flower delivery in Sleepy Hollow to that address goes to the front desk if the notes say so, between 9 AM and 7 PM, Monday through Saturday.

The Saturday that rescues a Sunday birthday

A birthday on a Sunday cannot be met with a Sunday delivery, because Sunday delivery is not available. For a birthday in Sleepy Hollow the choice is a Saturday arrival, with a card that mentions the day, or a Monday one with a late wish.

Birthday flowers delivered on a Saturday are best ordered by the Friday before 1 PM Eastern time, so the florist has the arrangement ready for the weekend. A preferred hour inside 9 AM to 7 PM can go in the notes, though it is a request and not a promise.

Size follows the guest list: a small piece for a quiet household, a larger one if the party is at the recipient's house.

Timing flowers for the day a Sleepy Hollow baby comes home

Families with a newborn rarely keep a schedule, so a delivery date is better chosen around the day mother and baby are expected home than the day the baby was born. Flower deliveries for a new baby in Sleepy Hollow can be timed to that arrival, provided it is not a Sunday. Order flowers a day or two ahead, and say in the notes whether the family is home or away.

If the family is still at Phelps Hospital, the order needs the room and the patient's name, but once they leave, switch to the street address. A florist near the recipient will not know the change unless the order says so.

Pick a design that stands in a vase without much fuss. A plant lasts longer on a shelf, while cut stems brighten a kitchen for the first few weeks, and the photo afterward is a nice thing to forward to a grandparent.

Two doors for sympathy: service and home

Sympathy flowers to Sleepy Hollow families go to one of two places: the funeral director handling the service or the family's own door. The order should say which, and give the hour of the service if the flowers are meant to arrive before it.

There is one cemetery in the village, and flowers for a burial are better sent to the service rather than the grave itself. Funeral flowers in Sleepy Hollow can be ordered in a standing form or as a modest arrangement, whichever suits the family.

Flowers sent to a home after the service are often the most welcome, since the first days are the quietest. If a flower type is unavailable, the florist may substitute another, and the arrangement keeps its size, its shape and its value.
