Where Kitty Hawk addresses sit

The 2020 figure for the town is 3,704 people, and it spreads across 8.109 square miles, so delivery addresses may be spread out. A flower order should carry the street, the house number and ZIP 27949, plus a line about the entrance.

When houses are spread out, a recipient may be out when the flowers arrive. A preferred hour can be asked for in the notes, though it cannot be promised, and a neighbor's address is a good second choice if someone there agrees.

Because the town is spread out, a landmark helps: the name of a side street, the color of a gate, a number on a mailbox. A florist reads the notes before leaving, and a line about the entrance costs the sender nothing. Kitty Hawk flower delivery follows the same Monday to Saturday week as every other town in the state.

Some addresses have a gate or a long drive. If so, say it in the notes, and add a request for the best hour; the hour is a wish and cannot be guaranteed.

Dare, with Manteo as the seat

Kitty Hawk lies in Dare County, NC, with 38,183 people on 383 square miles, and the county seat is Manteo. Buxton, Frisco, Rodanthe and Wanchese share the county, and Manteo, NC has a page of its own.

Currituck County, NC is the one neighboring county with a page here. A relative across that line belongs on it, and the state page handles everything farther afield.

A recipient who says "I live in Dare" has not said much. Ask for the street, and use the county page only when the family can name the town.

Southern Shores, Kill Devil Hills and Duck

Southern Shores, NC, Kill Devil Hills, NC and Duck, NC sit near the town, and so do Nags Head and Manns Harbor. A recipient may use any of these names when asked where they live, so ask for the line printed on an envelope.

If the address says Kitty Hawk and ZIP 27949, stay on this page. If it names one of the neighbors, the order belongs on that town's page, where a florist near the right door builds the bouquet.

A florist near the right door makes the bouquet for the page that matches the address. If the sender picks the wrong town, the order still goes to the address typed, so a typo in the town name matters less than a typo in the street.

A Kitty Hawk card the recipient will recognize

In a small town, a card that carries only a first name can leave the recipient guessing. Write a full name and one line about the connection, and keep the message short.

Funeral flowers in Kitty Hawk go to the service or the family's house, and the card should carry the family name. Flower types may be substituted for what the florist has on hand, and the size, shape and value stay as ordered. A photo of the finished arrangement reaches the sender at no extra charge.

Birthday cards are best signed with a first and last name, since a recipient may know two people with the same first name. A thank-you card needs only a line naming the favor, and an anniversary card a date.

A desk, a department and the hours to expect

A workplace delivery works when the notes name the front desk, the department and the hours someone is there. A bouquet left with a receptionist is a common outcome, and the card should say who it is for.

To send flowers to Kitty Hawk for an office, order before 1 PM Eastern time so the delivery can arrive that business day. The catalog of designs shows sizes, and a medium arrangement suits most desks.

A bouquet left at a reception desk is a common outcome, so the card should carry the recipient's full name. If the workplace has more than one entrance, name the one with the front desk. A bouquet is easier to hand over when someone expects it, so a quick message to the recipient the day before is a kind touch. Business hours decide the rest: an office that closes early is best served by a morning order.
